Trent Alexander-Arnold has sparked hypothesis after he was heard telling pals about an England team-mate who ‘did not need to take a penalty’ within the shootout victory over Switzerland.

The Liverpool star got here off the bench within the second-half of extra-time to take a penalty in the course of the shootout and scored the decisive spot-kick to ship England into the semi-finals.
