Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday appointed former Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali as head of youth growth. The newly created position was stuffed after a recruitment course of, in accordance with the PCB. Aside from being a member of the choice committee for the boys’s nationwide staff, Azhar Ali may also function the top of youth growth. PCB acknowledged that Azhar might be tasked with shaping the way forward for Pakistan cricket by designing and implementing complete youth cricket methods.
“Tasked with shaping the way forward for Pakistan cricket by designing and implementing complete youth cricket methods, establishing strong grassroots cricket buildings and expertise pathways, collaborating with regional cricket associations to strengthen age-group programmes, educating rising cricketers below the PCB’s Pathways Programme, and organising seminars and clinics to construct consciousness of off-field growth necessities for aspiring gamers,” PCB’s assertion was quoted by ESPNcricinfo as saying.
Azhar opened up on his new position and mentioned that he’s honoured and excited to tackle the tasks.
“I’m honoured and excited to tackle this essential position. Having risen by way of the age-group ranks and performed in depth membership and home cricket, I perceive the important position grassroots growth performs in shaping future stars,” Azhar mentioned on his appointment as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
Azhar was in command of Pakistan in ODIs from 2015 to 2017 (taking on for Misbah-ul-Haq after the World Cup), a turbulent time for the staff within the format throughout which they fell to No. 9 within the rankings. He didn’t take part in any T20Is and his final ODI for Pakistan was in January 2018.
