The shortlist for the 2024 PFA Gamers’ Participant of the Yr award has been launched and there was one shocking omission.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and three Man Metropolis stars – in Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and Rodri – are all up for the award.
However Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice fell in need of making the six-man shortlist.
The nominees and the winner of this award are chosen by skilled gamers in England.
Rice got here second within the vote for the FWA Footballer of the Yr award, chosen by journalists, after enjoying in all 38 of Arsenal’s Premier League matches final season.

The England midfielder scored seven league targets for the Gunners and likewise produced eight assists.
Foden gained the FWA award and is known to be a frontrunner for the PFA prize.
The 2024 PFA Gamers’ Participant of the Yr winner can be revealed on August 20.
Three of the previous 4 winners have been Man Metropolis gamers. Haaland gained it within the 2022-23 season after scoring a record-breaking 36 Premier League targets.
Kevin De Bruyne had earlier picked up the gong in each the 2019-20 and 2020-21 campaigns, however Liverpool’s Mo Salah topped the vote on the finish of the 2021-22 season.
