Defending champions Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy quarterfinal towards Haryana has been shifted from Lahli to Kolkata by the BCCI. All of the quarterfinals will likely be five-day affairs, from February 8 to 12. Though no purpose has been given for the change of venue, it’s learnt that receding winter within the northern area might pose challenges like morning fog at Lahli and have an effect on the proceedings. “Sure, we have now acquired a communication from BCCI that our quarterfinal towards Haryana will likely be performed on the Eden Gardens,” Mumbai Cricket Affiliation (MCA) president Ajinkya Naik instructed PTI on Wednesday.
The Mumbai crew, which has 42 Ranji titles to its credit score, will function stars comparable to India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, all-rounder Shivam Dube, Shardul Thakur and skipper Ajinkya Rahane.
The Haryana crew will likely be headlined by seam-bowling sensation Anshul Kamboj.
The opposite three quarterfinals are scheduled to be held in Rajkot (Saurashtra vs Gujarat), Nagpur (Vidarbha vs Tamil Nadu) and Pune (Jammu and Kashmir vs Kerala).
